About the Author Joe Luxbacher has more than 30 years of experience playing and coaching soccer at all levels. A former professional soccer player for the North American Soccer League, American Soccer League, and Major Indoor Soccer League, Luxbacher has been the head coach of men’s soccer at the University of Pittsburgh since 1984. Luxbacher was named Big East Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 1992 and 1995, and he was selected for the Beadling Soccer Club Hall of Fame in 1995. Luxbacher earned his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh in 1985 with specializations in physical education and management as well as administration of athletics. Joe is the author of Attacking Soccer, Soccer: Steps to Success, and The Soccer Goalkeeper, Third Edition. He lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
